I'm grateful for...anything not Internet related

It's a little bit hard to be ungrateful for the internet when I'm typing this blog post today, using the internet. I've had nothing but trouble with our computer and the internet this week. We've had the luxury of a laptop for the last three years and updated this week (due to the last one dying) but no Wifi connection. What's the point of a laptop if you have to have it hard wired into the modem so you can use it? I'm stuck down in our rumpus room (in the cold) using the internet, but boy, I've learnt to be so grateful for so many other things.
  • Spending time away from the computer, with my family, playing with them, getting out to the park and talking to my husband. I wondered who that guy was I used to peer at over the top of the laptop.
  • Going to see the wonderful production of "Disney on Ice" with the whole family and be reduced to tears seeing the joy on my children's faces.
  • Visiting my Mum and sister and having lunch with them and catching up.

Hopefully the internet connection will be fixed tomorrow but I must (I must) remember to keep up that balance of internet and internet-free time.

I'm linking up with Maxabella Loves' "I'm grateful for..." blog.

  1. 100% agree that a balance is critical, Anne. I spend a lot of time on the computer for work anyway, so there is no way I could come home and be on it every night as well. I try to only have 1 hour here and there. It's so addictive otherwise! That's why I generally stay away from Twitter. It's fun, but within half an hour I start thinking 'what am I doing?' It just seems like such an aimless pastime and I don't have the time to pass!!

Glad you had such a great week. x

  2. Bah...May I remind you, we had an awesome chat thanks to the internet last night/yesterday morning! I agree though, that the balance is good. I enjoy an internet free day now and then. It's shocking how much I get done on those days!
