Listography: Top 5 Famous Folk I Used to Fancy

Kate from Kate Takes 5 has a good one this week in which we have to list the top 5 famous people we used to fancy. Here's a few, that I can remember.

1.  David Essex

Sorry Kate for mentioning this one again. He really is a stand out for me. I did mention him in another of Kate's Listographies, Top 5 Gigs. Rock on David!

 2.  Bay City Rollers

OMG! I absolutely adored them! Mind you, I was only about 10 years old! When I look at this photo I can honestly say I don't know what I was thinking!

3.  The Chappell Brothers

I know. I'm weird. You see, growing up in the 1970's and 1980's, I played a lot of sport, including cricket and I idolised the Australian cricket team (as most young girls do - don't they?). In particular, Ian, Greg and Trevor Chappell. Who can forget Trevor's famous underarm bowling incident? Sorry to any of my Kiwi followers.

4.  Sherbet

Aussie rock band "Sherbet" were the first band I ever saw in my early teens. They were famous for such hits as "Howzat" (refer my number 3), "Summer Love" and "Slipstream". The lead singer, Daryl Braithwaite (the furtherest on the left) was my favourite. When I went online looking for photos, I couldn't resist posting this one. They were supposedly reknown for 'risque' photos. This one doesn't leave too much to the imagination.

5.  David Lee Roth

Obviously the before photo. I'll never forget seeing him do the splits during the "Jump" film clip. He had me at "I get up". I'd kill for his hair now, before or after!

So there you have it. I told my husband which ones I selected and he said "what about Samantha Fox and The Bangles?". I told him he has to write his own blog. This one's all about me.

P.S Did I ever tell you David Essex asked my Mum out for a drink once...before he was a star? She knocked him back - Years later when she shared the story with me I told her she was crazy, lol! x

  6. I bumped into David Essex in Sainsbury's in Surbiton one day. I was impressed - he was at the top of his game and still bought his own sausages. That more than anything made him cool to me.

Never liked the Bay City Rollers mostly because my sisters did.

And I've never been a fan of cricket or naked men so I kind of lost my way after the Rollers...

If I could meet just one man (Ok two) it would be Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen.

If I could meet just one woman - it would be Milla Jovovich.

If I could meet someone in between it would be Stephen Fry :)
