I never promised you a herb garden

I find myself creating a herb garden every few months. I use quite a few herbs in my cooking and they either don't keep up with demand or go to seed. Despite being a lover of gardening, I just don't have the time to put into really looking after the herbs so I'm after some alternative places or ideas to grow them. As usual, Pinterest has the answer.

And just so you know that my blog post title was actually a song called "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden". Here it is. Sadly, I can remember it as being one of my favourites when I was a very (very, very) little girl!

  1. Those are some really great ideas for growing herbs! The only one I've had much luck with is Basil. I would like to be able to keep Cilantro growing.

  2. Cute ideas! This is one of my goals this year, I'd like to start one seeing as we spend too much on store-bought herbs. I love the garden in the little material pigeon-hole thingies, and the toolbox one!

  3. Anne without a doubt you come up with the BEST blog posts. This one I need! Such clever ideas and I too use fresh herbs and they are so expensive if you don't grow your own. I'm showing these to my husband and see if we can get a head start in doing one of these fun ideas. I have (had) a bunch of pop bottles. It would be like a miniature green house for the plants in one of those. Again Great ideas. THANKYOU for sharing.

    Luv u friend!!

  4. I never tried an herb garden but it does seem like I would be more likely to use what I grew in an herb garden especially if I could figure out how to dry them for use the rest of the year! It's something for me to think about!

  6. Lol! I know that song!

Love that pallet garden... But those upside down ones scare me. I have visions of pulling a leaf and dirt going everywhere!

  8. I have started collecting old steel colanders to plant herbs in! I love the plastic bottle ones too. I am the same, seem to go to seed or use it all. Must try to grow different one's than the usuals perhaps. xx
